Infusing HCP and Patient Voices in Curriculum Development

How Med Learning Group Partnered with TriVoca Health to develop a customized approach that would capture insights to inform their cSCC educational program.

The Challenge

Med Learning Group (MLG), a leader in Continuing Medical Education (CME), wanted to better understand knowledge gaps in the treatment of cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (cSCC) to provide the most valuable curriculum for its learners. It needed to hear from Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) and patients to accurately capture the complete picture. MLG also needed the lift to be relatively light and a short turnaround time so that it could action on the insights uncovered quickly.

The Solution

MLG worked with TriVoca Health to develop a customized approach that would capture insights to inform their cSCC educational program. The studies were made up of 30 HCPs who treated the cSCC and 30 patients who had the condition. TriVoca Health created a simple five-question screener to qualify participants, and programmed the survey provided by MLG. The survey included a maximum of 30 questions (including the screener) and three open-ends to capture verbatims.

Upon completion of fielding, TriVoca Health provided both the raw data files and a topline report to MLG within 72 hours.

The Results

From recruitment to report delivery, the entire project took only three weeks to complete, so MLG could rapidly make decisions on where to focus development. The approach was so successful that MLG has now run studies in nine different therapeutic areas to support their curriculum development, including follicular lymphoma, asthma, and melanoma. The insights are used throughout a program, from initial design to outcome. In addition, some of the findings from these surveys have helped inform the development of MLG’s AI Avatars.

“Thanks to our partnership with TriVoca Health, our programs at MLG are now inclusive of HCP and patient voices. This inclusion ensures our offerings are much more applicable to real-world patient care and deliver meaningful impact.” – Lauren Welch, Sr VP, Operations, Med Learning Group
